Yaupon Latte? Yes Please!

Shelly SteeleMarch 3, 2026

This latte with a local twist is the brain-child of Wildflour Market owner, Jamie Dessert.

You can find her making these concoctions Tuesday-Saturday at our tea factory - 504 Pullman Road.

If you want to try on your own, here's her recipe for an iced latte, (easy to make hot too):

You'll Need:

Yaupon tea (blend of choice) - brewed strong, and chilled

Honey (she uses spiced honey from Kookaburra)

Cinnamon (optional)

Vanilla

Heavy Whipping Cream

2 shots of espresso

Ice

Directions:

  1. Start with 8oz of yaupon tea and add in 2 shots of espresso.  Whisk with honey (dollop or two depending on how sweet you want it), until well blended. Pour into a glass with ice, leaving room for cold foam on the top.
  2. In separate mug, make cold foam.  Use heavy whipping cream, and add in cinnamon and vanilla to taste.  Whisk until there are peaks.
  3. Pour on top of yaupon/expresso and top with more cinnamon
  4. Serve with straw.  As you let it sit, the cold foam will integrate with the yaupon/expresso.
  5. ENJOY!

Jamie's customers love this - it's a fan favorite for sure.  She uses Healthy Kick tea with cinnamon, but also makes these yaupon lattes with other blends - mix and match cold foam flavors for endless combos!

She's a yaupon latte fan because you get the great latte taste without having to drink a full cup of milk.

Have you tried it?  What do you think!?
